Is This Your Sacred Work?

Powerful, I take responsibility for who I am, what I do, and what happens to me.

Your sacred work is not made up of the tools you use to do your healing.

Whether you’re an ER nurse, a heart surgeon, a Reiki master or an Aromatherapist – your sacred work is the soul you bring to the table when you work with a client or patient.

Through more than a decade of coaching, it’s been shown to me that people who are successful – earning the money they not only need, but desire; enjoying time with family and friends; and contributing financially and energetically to causes they believe in — are those who are connected to the work in a sacred way.

Your work doesn’t need to be religious in nature to be sacred, but it should feed the Divine that is in you.

Over here at Grow Your Money Mojo, I’m passionate about the idea that you know yourself best. When you give yourself the time and focus necessary to listen to your Highest Self is when you hit on your truth.

With that in mind, here are some questions for you to focus on as you explore the idea of your healing work as your Sacred work in the world.  Feel free to print them out and let them marinate in your conscious and subsconscious over the next few days. Feel free to share what you’ve found here in the comments.

  1. Are you more interested in learning new tools/modalities than in doing the work?
  2. Would you rather play with your tools to show how they work than earn a living using them?
  3. Is there a fire in you that says if you didn’t “do this one thing” you would feel a big gaping hole in your life?
  4. If you were told you could no longer use the tool you have, would you still find a way to bring your clients to the results they are currently seeking?
  5. Can you find a way to take a “feeling” result and make it concrete? (i.e., helping people find peace to helping people clear the weight that is holding them back from their life?)
  6. Are you committed to helping your clients do their own work, find their own answers and get the results they desperately desire – even if it doesn’t include using your tools, or doing it exactly your way?
  7. Do your philanthropic intentions and works coincide in some way with the results your clients receive when they work with you?
  8. Are you willing to stop adding to your tool box long enough to get your work into the world?
  9. Would you agree that no one in the world can do exactly the way you do the way you do it for your perfect people?
  10. Would doing this work (either for free or pay) still be at the forefront of your life if you suddenly inherited $750,000?

What other questions have you found to help you discern if you’re doing sacred work?

Questions about “Guidance”

For years I’ve been studying  – spirituality in all it’s guises.  I’ve immersed myself in classes, seminars, books and teachings on topics like mediumship, psychics, alternative healing, channeling, astrology, shamanism, witchcraft, magic, and on and on.

I’ve found some truly gifted teachers and guides and I’ve found some quacks.  The world is full of grace and goofiness and it’s our responsibility to run anything and everything we’re learning through our own personal BS meter.

Over the years I’ve read more than a few “downloads” and missives  like the  one I posted here.  No matter what they were about, they raised questions for me.  Sometimes I asked the questions, but more often I simply kept my mouth shut, either because I didn’t want to offend the author or because I didn’t want to seem mean or some other variation on my life lesson.

I tell you this because I bet you have some questions for me and you might not be asking them – for your own good reasons.

So over the next few weeks I’m going to answer the questions that always occurred to me when reading about other-worldly guidance.  I’m also going to answer YOUR questions that you’ve sent to me privately.

And if you’d like an opportunity to actually TALK about these things in a live forum – join me on either 9/12 or 9/16  for a free class on how to access Divine Downloads in your own life.  You can use the links on the dates or the buttons on the right hand column!

Questions about Palmistry and the Answers You’ve Already Found

Based on sheer number of comments, this post, Palmistry, Freckles & Power is by far the most popular I’ve written.  It reminds me that even thought I thought I was the only person who had a freckle on the palm of her hand when I first started studying hand analysis – I’m far from alone.

I love getting questions from readers about their hands and do my best to answer effectively.

It’s hard to give a specific answer to a general question.

Part of my life purpose is Teacher or Master of Integrity.  As a result, I’m hard-wired to try to give detailed and immediately useful information.  In a setting like this one – it’s impossible to give a thorough reading of someone’s situation based on a question about one specific mark in their hand.

Still, I’m compelled to help people figure out what’s going on in their hands.

There’s a lot of misinformation out there.

Palmistry or hand analysis, seems to be less understood and accepted compared to Astrology (at least in the US) and that is a bit of a challenge.

My sense, from the comments I get here on the blog, the emails I receive and even conversations with people around and about in my travels, is that most people think of palmistry as a combo of a parlor game and a fortune telling tool.

So much so that people tell me that they search the internet to find the ‘meaning’ of what they see in their palm.  And they continue to search until they find a definition/explanation that matches up with what they think the marker means or should mean given their particular situation and their emotional attachment to a particular outcome.

This isn’t necessarily a bad idea.

I know  we each have an inner compass (or purpose) that knows our truth better than anyone else in the world – so for the most part I encourage people to PSHAW an interpretation they find that just feels WRONG to them.

However, we might know our truth deep down on the inside, but the fact that we’re human means that we’re prone to denial.   Even if your heart knows that the new guy who installs the new garbage disposal for you (without you even asking) isn’t the right one for the long haul, your head (or ego) goes into a song and dance to help you overlook all the reasons for your ultimate  incompatibility.

The dilemma

The dilemma is figuring out our truth from all the other schmutz we’ve been holding onto  and carrying around with us for the last 20+ years!

So when you’re looking at your hands and then internet researching for meaning – find a quiet space for yourself.  Make sure you ask yourself if what you’ve found is really true or what you want to be true.  Ask yourself why you’re looking outside yourself for the truth.

It’s normal to be stumped.

We all get stumped.  We weren’t  born knowing how to add and subtract.  Neither were we born knowing how to walk or talk or understand the local language.  We needed teachers and helpers – to show us the way and the encourage us when we got frustrated.  Those teachers didn’t walk for us though, they just showed us how to use the beautiful and amazingly engineered technology and tools we were  born with.

So when you ask me your questions about your hands, I’m happy to answer from my years of experience and practice.  More importantly though, I want you to run everything and anything I share through your own internal filter too.  Practice using your own inner guidance to create your purpose-filled life on your terms.
