The Venus Star is one I don’t see much. You can check the post on Hand Reading Stats from Saturday 23 August, 2008 to see what I mean.
The Mount of Venus is found at the base of the palm, below the thumb. It’s generally a pretty fleshy and firm area. Venus represents love, passion, fun, play, and that very sensual earth-momma quality. She’s passionate and she loves fine things. Venus is a visceral part of our everyday lives — the desire for physical intimacy, fine food and fine wine are all part of the Venusian lifestyle.
The gift marking appears as a star on the Mount of Venus and is there to remind you to live with total delight in your life. You desire to be surrounded by fine things and you can use your charm to get what you want.
One of the ways you may wish to express your sense of play and joy include having things that feel, look and smell great on and around you (gold, diamonds, velvet, silk sheets, a sleek convertible and fresh flowers emitting a scent of sweet earthiness). You decide what represents quality to you and you will find a way to have that in your life.
Anyone with a strong and well-defined mount of Venus will relate to this desire to observe, touch and have fine things.
Finding fun in everyday activities is your speciality if Venus is prominent in your life (as represented by the star). You may drive your friends, lover, colleagues or kids crazy when you find ways to have fun in places they believe to be serious. But that’s okay, when you are genuinely moving from your inner child — you are right on the mark. You’ll find ways to create play with or without the others! Part of your gift is the uncanny way you have of getting others to loosen up and find the child within themselves.
Venus stars can kick into gear with the penalty when you find that you’re denying that inner child a little too often. You’re trying to mask yourself as a “grownup” and do things in dull and stodgy ways. You’re burying your child under a list of to-do’s and practicalities and as a result start feeling edgy. Or antsy. Or just plain frustrated. This is when the “dark side” of Venus can appear.
Your natural charm gets sublimated and you find that you’re “faking it” to fit in, and it can have an “inappropriate edge.“ You know, running your hand across the forearm of the fella sitting next to you at that boring business dinner all night long and then getting really miffed when he asks, with a smirk and a twinkle in his eye, if you want to go someplace quiet to get a drink after the event. I mean, for heaven’s sake, you’re married — he should have known that!
Now this is a fine line — those who are using their Venus Gifts in a conscious way most often employ the gifts of subtle flirtation and charm. What my Southern-born-and-bred boss used to refer to as being a good hostess — even in a business setting. She was describing her uncanny ability to get everyone onto an even playing field - the cantankerous Yankee professor and the introverted Domestic Violence researcher both felt welcome and charmed by her ability to recognize their unique gifts and bring them to the table.
So, when you’re consciously using your charm — you’re benefitting everyone. It’s when you do the unconscious flirting (like the touching at dinner party) that things get out of whack. The unconscious seems to kick into gear when you’ve been denying your sense of play.
Put your charm and sparkle to work in your life. Honor your need to play and to indulge your inner child on a regular basis. When you do, you’ll find that you are uncommonly good at helping others stretch their imaginations and their happiness factors! We can all use a little Inner child energy.
You can probably tell, I don’t have a Venus Star — but if you do, I’d love to hear how it helps/hinders you in business and in daily life – share your story in the Comments.
Speaking of Sparkle — I’ve entered this post in Problogger’s contest - – so if you found me that way – please let me know how you feel about the title and the post — letting me know you’ve come from Problogger!
